Databricks -Computing/cloud space requirements

Hi team,
I just wanted to check if there will be cloud space/cluster capacity - Azure/GCP/AWS that we will be receiving for registering in this competition.
Please let me know if we have to create our own workspace in either of the cloud platforms for building in databricks, else whether we will be getting one.

There won't be extra capacity given for the competition but you can sign up for a free trial (preferably AWS) which includes $500 dbu to spend (for cloud space, etc) . Because it is serverless, it should be the same bill.

Hi Jackie, not sure if I'm doing something wrong. I signed up for a free AWS and Databricks trial. I still had to put in my credit card to register in AWS. I was doing some tests with vector search with examples from the demo notebook and I was just billed 6$ for using Elastic Compute Cloud. It seems like building an actual project will cost hundreds of dollars. How can we get around it for hackathon?

Looking at both my AWS account (which already pre-existed) and Databrick account (which I just created for this hackathon), I do not see any sign of $500 DBU.

I just filled out the Google Form linked inside the Resources tab of this Devpost. I assume that we should expect the $500 DBU to hit after our Google Form submissions are processed?

I also register for the free tier trial on AWS and am not seeing the 500$ credit in the free trial. Also the DBR account free trial is about to expire. Any news with the google form processing?

    Hi,

I am being charged for elastic cloud compute and EC2. Can you please provide some help on this? I have filled the google form, but I am not sure how the credits would go into the AWS account.

    Hi,
Is there any update on the charges? I am being charged on my AWS account for a NAT Gateway. Is this normal and will the charges disappear once the credit is loaded?
